You Already Have What It Takes



You may be familiar with the saying, ‘Don’t dress for the job you have, dress for the one you want’. I’d like to put a spin on that, “Don’t put any more energy into your struggles, put energy toward the circumstances you desire”.

It’s all about attention and intention.

Focusing on your struggles or the mess you’re in or the things you don’t want usually gets you more of the same. The differences are sometimes subtle but the shift in attention is key to forward movement. Focusing your attention in the direction you want to go instead of where you are or where you’ve been will guide you toward your goals and away from your struggles.

Imagine yourself lost on a path in the woods. If you keep looking behind you, instead of in front of you, it's difficult to see how to move forward. When you set your sights on what’s in front of you – with your body, mind, emotions and spirit – the pathway to the clearing will become visible. Attention is energy and energy is power. Use your power, focused attention, to get more of what you want and less of what you don’t.

Changing your circumstances is often as straightforward as setting your sights in the direction you want to go, simultaneously withdrawing focus and energy away from your struggles. Focus your energy on your desires and intentions, instead of your dislikes and your current circumstances, and your perceptions and experiences will begin to transform.
