Between a Rock and a Hard Place…

Recently a client of mine asked a very important and relevant questions, “As a woman, I find it almost impossible to honor my femininity and still be successful professionally, parent, take care of a home/family, manage financial matters, spend time with my partner among others. Somewhere along the way I have lost myself. How do I balance doing it all, taking on all the roles and expectations, while still being true to myself. Between a rock and a hard place, Sara"

This was my response…Dearest Sara, as women we have a tendency, and sometimes feel required, to take on the world and then wonder how we get so lost along the way. First – you are not lost and you are not broken! You are simply so overburdened that your true self, that inner being so full of light, love and spirit, has been buried under responsibilities and expectations. Fear not, you are in there, your light has not gone out.

Know, first and foremost, you are not alone on this life journey. You are guided every step of the way, by Divine, Source, Spirit, Universe, God, or whatever term most resonates with you. We are taught we have 5 primary senses: touch, taste, smell, hearing and vision. What we are not taught is that we have a 6th sense, our strongest, most essential of the senses – Intuition. Our intuition is a direct line to Source, the pathway by which we have access to all the knowing, understanding, support and wisdom that exists within, around and for us. This uncanny sense tells you, when you have no other earthly explanation for this sudden knowledge, of events, outcomes, direction or information which applies directly to you. It is your intuition that guides you toward which aspects of your Self to honor, and honor them you must, so that you stay balanced, whole and full of joy.

Fortunately, intuition is not something you have to obtain, learn, attain, bargain for or accomplish. Like your other 5 senses, intuition is your birthright and a sense which you have access to and may have been using without even realizing it. For example, how many times have you sensed who is on the phone before you pick it up, or what event to attend or job to take for that chance encounter, or when a loved one is trouble. This is your intuition, your link to universal wisdom and knowledge, guiding you along your way. And, like any sense or skill, it becomes more accessible as you use it, it simply needs to be fine-tuned, exercised and utilized regularly. To do this, there are many practices which strengthen your connection to your intuition. The fact that you asked this question, that you are pondering these issues in your life, means you are ready - your spirit is calling out for nurturance and expression.

So, take that leap of faith and begin to do that which will brighten your inner light!
